ENGIE Marketing and Sales

ENGIE

ENGIE is committed to the responsible growth of its businesses (power, gas and energy services) to succeed in the central challenges of delivering an energy transition to a low-carbon economy: providing access to sustainably energy, combating climate change, reducing its effects and making responsible use of natural resources. The group is developing high performance, innovative solutions for private individual customers, urban authorities and companies by applying its expertise in four key areas: natural and renewable gas, renewable electricity, energy efficiency and digital technologies. ENGIE is the leading electricity provider in Belgium.

Within ENGIE, the Marketing and Sales entity is responsible for the development of all commercial activities. The department’s strategy is to make sure that the company remains the reference for electricity and gas in Belgium and to seize the opportunities offered by the energy transition. In order to ensure proficient communication and marketing research, M&S department entered the Data Driven era company, following the ENGIE group rules.

The challenge

ENGIE needed a robust infrastructure that allows them to:
  • Process and store data with scale,
  • Adhere to the ENGIE group security practices and be GDPR compliant,
  • Be cost effective

The solution

The solution designed by Necko Technologies for ENGIE was developed with high availability, scalability and security in mind, all built up around AWS Services. The entire AWS environment is serverless, allowing for a great deal of flexibility while being cost effective. Due to the ENGIE internal reglementation, the solution has been defined as infrastructure as code with CI/CD pipelines

The benefits

Cost effective
The solution only costs a fraction of what it would have cost on legacy systems.
Fully Managed
With fully managed services, ENGIE does no longer have to provision, maintain or backup servers.
